I'm kind of surprised that there wasn't some sort of compliance buyout included when they decided to flatten the cap for this season and possibly next.

Jake, and JVR may be easier to move than I thought... |

Thanks Bill, I really had no clue about Jake's deal. This is the best chance to move him if it is going to happen. Something will change as I don't see Fletcher icing a team with the complete core back in place. The big question is who would take him ? |

Thanks for the good catch up.
As previously noted, Jake's deal is a bit more trade friendly than at face value. JvR I think might still be a tough sell. Ghost, to the right team, a bargain.
Has there been any word on an expanded roster for the condensed season? Will there be bubbles again or will teams actually travel?
I look for the Flyers to be more aggressive around players under contract trades than signing free agents. That will ensure greater cap certainty through the frozen cap period.

Jake was and and I think can be effective moving forward for a few years. It’s jvr that needs to go. And ghost |

Jake struggles to reach the 20 goal mark each season and is only reason a 70 point rage guy per season. He’s purely offensive but his offensive numbers aren’t really impressive. |

Kick every tire. We all know Taylor Hall is going to free agency for sure. Jack Eichel seems to want out of Buffalo. I’m not saying we’ll get these guys, I’m saying Fletch should consider all options. |

It's really not much of a factor really. He still has 4 remaining years on his deal at a high cap hit. |

Unless they make some huge move to add to this team now I wouldn’t mind them moving on from Jake. This core isn’t good enough and I’d look to free up that money.
I do agree that JVR needs to go flat out. |

Please stay away from Taylor Hall. No reason to get into the kind of contract it's likely going to take for him. He had one great year and is overrated in my opinion. |

Voracek shouldn’t be moved imo. He still can be an effective player moving forward. |

I don't disagree but if I could move him for youth and or picks without taking salary back, I would. I just don't think they can do that.

Only way Jake gets moved IMO is if we sweeten the deal and I don't want that. I would however consider a trade for a player with similar salary and term as a shake up to the core. |

I agree. He seems to be hurt all of the time. He will also be 30 next season. |

Yeah I just don’t see a move that doesn’t set us back in a way. I think we’re better off keeping him if we are in a win-now mode. Even if we got the youth or picks, it’s likely they won’t impact the team in maybe 2-3 years. |

One of JVR or Jake will go during the expansion draft.
I saw on Twitter yesterday that someone mentioned JVR for Kessel. Interesting thought. Kessel has one less year and would only cost $5.6mil for the next two years. TML is eating $1.2mil of his $6.8mil cap hit.
Flyers would have to add something (pick/prospect) and at least eat some money. |

Maybe. I think the owners realized they are going to lose or not make much money in the near future and decided to actually make their GM's work their way out instead of cutting a go away check.
Really unfortunate with the AHL. Bad situation. Going to be funny to see where we are with this virus after the election. |

Not so sure. Why does Seattle want them? Depends n how they build there team and what else is out there; I dont think the flyers can count on a big ticket players being taken is all. Now if the flyers add something then all bets are off. Didn't the GM do a bang up job last expansion draft? |

Right now, I see Voracek as the better player so if I'm making that deal and retaining some cap, why would be have to add something? |

The Flyers will have to add a pick but I am good with that if they free up $8mil+ in cap space for three years. Make them an offer they can't refuse. |

I think the question with Voracek is not who will take him but how do the Flyers replace him. He is a skilled forward with size. They are already a smallish team. I know his negatives but is there anyone in the system to replace him? Some prospects but no guarantees. |

It's JVR for Kessel. Not Voracek for Kessel. |
